Day 77 - 20 Feb.2012 - Rio De Janeiro
Another day at the home of our friends. Today Renato made a lovely churrasco (BBQ). Life can’t be any better – eating fantastic picanha, a type of sirloin steak, and jumping into the pool every now and then.
But today we decided to leave the oasis at the pool and drove to Santa Teresa to see a couple of old friends. We were not with great luck as it turned out that one was not at home. But we managed to find Teo, an old friend of mine just walking down the street in Santa Teresa. We just came back from a famous restaurant “Abrazível” up on the fills of Santa Teresa – We only embarked on a desert as we had already our fair share of churrasco today. But even though not a cheap exercise. Eating out in Rio definitely became very expensive over the last years.
At Teo’s home, he told us the unofficial stories of that restaurant - really interesting to see the other side of the medal as well.
It was really good to see Teo again and we arranged to meet him again the next day to see the carnivals group "Carmelitas" going through the streets of Santa Teresa.
We drove back to Barra da Tijuca where Renato & Karen live now and closed the evening with some more talks and cerveja next to the pool.
